Joy

As joy you know,

Deep from within,

You sense that gleam

Surface through your skin.

Rays bursting forth

From inside your chest,

Unbeknownst to those

Encountered upon your quest.

Sprinkled by droplets

Of contagious light,

A potential to penetrate,

Multiply, grow bright.

You feel that knowing

Again burst forth,

The soul remembers

Here on Earth.

You play the part,

Savor the role,

All the while

Take comfort to know,

When lines of truth

Speak from the page,

Such honest words

May confront or engage.

Yet, your greatest joys

Lie deep within,

Once purposely untethered

Seep from the skin.

Physically addictive

And mentally enthralling,

When uninhibitedly expressed

So perfectly rewarding.

Shifting feeling and thought

As one in the same,

Entwined do embody

The reason you came.

Feel my words

And hear me say,

How much I love you

In every way.

I love your mind,

Your heart and soul,

I love you all

As one, your whole.

I love your thoughts,

Your actions and words,

I love how you live,

Have goals to move towards.

I love your inspiration,

The joy you put forth,

I love the adventures

You’ve had since birth.

I love your bright light,

That shines from within,

I love your elation

When you experience a win.

I love your delight

When ideas come alive,

I love your determination

To learn more, to strive.

I love your core values,

Your ethics, your true north,

I love that you’re aware

Of your inner being and self-worth.

I love where you’ve come from,

I love where you’ve been,

I love how you’ve come

Full circle again.

I love how you’ve realized

It’s not what you know,

But how you embrace

The journey and grow.

I love how you listen,

Heed guidance, take advice,

Yet trust your own inner knowing,

Feel your truth as precise.

I love you for being

Authentic, just you,

I love you as is

And hope you do too.

In a world of love,

As we rise above.

As more bliss we deploy.

In a culture of kindness,

Trust giving uplifts

As compassion is timeless.

In the importance of intention,

Trust thoughts become

As reality is invention.

In a time of hope,

Trust humanity shines through

As brotherhood we invoke.

In the strength of connection,

Trust together overcomes

As unity is our destination.

I still believe

In a place of peace,

Trust understanding reigns

As contempt we release.

In the justice of time,

Trust truth steps forward

As visions align.

In a brighter day,

Trust integrity triumphs

As more decency we display.

In the impact of words,

Trust they land on target

As this message is heard.

Absurd

Absurd

What if judgment

And preconceived notions

Became obsolete,

No longer set into motion?

The voice in our heads

Reprogrammed and tweaked,

Focused solely on praise,

Only compliments did speak.

The energy spent on

Comparison or critique

Channeled productively into

Accomplishing great feats.

Admiration and acceptance

Becoming the norm,

As unconditional tolerance

Hits town like a storm!

What if true compassion

Became popular and cool,

So caring and kindness

Went viral and ruled?

Good intentions abound

In all human interactions,

Creating trust and confidence,

Enabling real satisfaction.

All efforts poured forth

Promote undeniable union,

Collaborating together

In perfect communion.

Uplifting each other

Through intention and word,

Well-meaning thoughts

Always spoken or inferred.

What if tomorrow

We agreed to change ways,

Rewrote life’s script,

Started a wild new craze?

A plot twist unexpected

Yet readily embraced,

Suddenly joy and elation

Are staring us in the face!

A new culture of courage

Is born from within,

Growing quickly to flourish,

Sprouting hope once again.

And what if each one of us

Internalized these words?

Then took that first step,

Knowing the opposite is absurd.

Forgive

Forgive us please

For all harm done,

We do not realize

We are one. 

Let compassion

Fill our heart,

Spark in us change,

From hatred part.

Help us know

Love conquers all,

Teach us kindness

Breaks down walls.

Guide us to

A place of peace,

Show us the path

Where egos cease.

Fill with respect

Our human mind

To treat all others

As our own kind.

Shine light upon

Our fragile soul,

Help us to see

Our common goal.

Take our pain

Rooted within,

Convert it to hope,

Let transformation begin.

Wrap our being

In arms of grace,

Infuse us with love

For the human race.

Hold us close,

Release our shame,

Remind us from Source

As one we came.
